Annual Volunteer Bonfire

Our annual Volunteer Bonfire gathering was a terrific success the other day. Emily’s House children’s hospice and Philip Aziz Centre for Hospice Care volunteers gathered with our program coordinators in Withrow Park, Toronto, to connect informally and to strengthen our community.

As part of one exercise, each person wrote on a piece of paper, something they wanted to release.  Then they dropped those “release-it” notes into the fire. Everyone also wrote down something they wanted to “pour more energy into” so that it will flourish in the year ahead. When they fed these notes into the bonfire, it helped fan the flame of enthusiasm … for serving hospice clients and care.

We are so grateful for our hospice volunteer team. And as coordinators Mike and Sunni say: “We love the fire!”
