Wow! Congratulations and tremendous gratitude to everyone involved in this labour of love, and gift of witness and resources to children and families on a palliative care journey. Thanks Hockey for Grace for playing full out — on the ice and off — to give back in such a beautiful and meaningful way.

Thank You

There are so many moving parts during Hockey for Grace weekend, it can be hard to take it all in. So we’ve taken the past week to let it sink in—and to recover (we might be getting too old for this!).

Our hearts are full of overwhelming gratitude to everyone who showed. To those who have been with us since day one, to the new faces and those who found us along the way—thank you.

When we lost Grace our biggest fear was that she would be forgotten by a world that barely got the chance to know her. Yet every year, when we drop that first puck, when we see kids running through the halls and now playing their own games, when we look out from the stage at the social to see hundreds of people quietly listening as we speak, when we meet families and celebrate their kids, and when players thank us on their way out—those are the moments that let us know she never will. Those are the moments we know we’ve made her proud. Without each and everyone of you none of this would be possible, so thank you.

This coming week, we’ll be sharing thank yous to the many people who help make this all happen—the sponsors, local businesses, teams, and volunteers. You give us the opportunity to build this legacy for Grace and raise funds for the incredible care at Emily’s House.

If there’s one thing we’ve learned as parents, it’s that whether your child is here with you or watching from above—it truly takes a village. And ours? Ours is extraordinary.
