Congratulations to Our June Callwood Award Recipient 2025: Caryn Cardella!

Congratulations to Caryn Cardella, who received recognition as this year’s June Callwood Award recipient for the Philip Aziz Centre for Hospice Care and Emily’s House at last week’s Hospice Palliative Care Ontario (HPCO) conference. The award recognizes an individual or group for their commitment to volunteering and longstanding service to their community.

Caryn has been a solid, cheerful, delightful and responsive volunteer with us for five years. Always with an engaging smile, she has supported Emily’s House clients, clients in their own home, and Grief and Bereavement clients. She is a volunteer leader for our Youth Advisory Committee (YAC), and a hostess for hospice CORE Training nights.
Caryn wrote: “Volunteering in hospice has given me a changed perspective on life and on humanity, bringing into focus the things that are truly important to me in life.”
Thank you, Caryn, for all you do and how you do it, to make compassionate hospice care accessible!
