Emily’s House children enjoy Leafs game with thanks to John Tavares Foundation
On Saturday three of our Emily’s House children (accompanied by staff) attended the Leafs game with thanks to a generous donation from the John Tavares Foundation. They spent the evening enjoying box seats, good food, and our boys in blue got the W! After the game John came up and said “hello” to everyone and sent a swag bag to one medically-fragile patient who unfortunately was not able to attend. Aryne, John’s wife, sent the loveliest note about our kiddos and team and an extra special shout out to Luke our rockstar nurse.
Here’s a note from one of the families whose son participated:
“We just got home from picking up [our son] from his stay with you all. He was a chatterbox the whole way home, telling me everything he did, and who he spent time with, and the fun he had at the game. (He had decided to be a Leafs fan for 1 night 😉)…. Without you, we would never have a chance for respite. The thought of leaving him in the care of anyone else is unfathomable. I mean that. We don’t trust many people to give the care he needs. In fact, my husband and I trust each other, and we trust you guys, and that’s it. … And the best part was that [our son] had fun!!❤️”
