Emily’s House Garden Memorial, June 9, 2019
“Think about it, there must be higher love, down in the heart of hidden in the stars above.”
Emily’s House Garden Memorial, June 9, 2019 — Thank you to everyone who joined in the celebration of Life this past Sunday, honouring the lives and memories of Emily’s House children. We were so fortunate to have a sunny afternoon, a big tent, and welcoming friendly faces – some new, and some who have shared a longer journey. One mom shared her Parent Story with so much love, power and energy, that folks on bicycles stopped in the adjacent park. One young sibling enjoyed her own party, chasing around a small tree, and finding a “new” dandelion surprisingly and delightfully, often every couple of laps.
It was another, very special afternoon, because it was shared. Thank you to the team and everyone who participated in the inspired and thoughtful program: the poetry, song, blessings, reading of children’s names, meaning of stones, stone placement in Ava’s Garden, planting of flowers, the plentiful reception, and the gathering together with memories.
This year, the balloon release was a little slow to start … like we all wanted to hold on just a moment longer.
(Thank you to Volunteer Photographer Greg Potter for this batch of photos).
