Why Fly Me to the Moon? The name of the fundraiser was chosen to honour the memory of Matthew Geremia. Matthew lived at Emily’s House for over 7 months and was always requesting Frank Sinatra music. In 2014 a Frank Sinatra themed party was organized for Matthew with a Frank Sinatra impersonator. Many dance parties were held during Matthew’s last days and everyone would wear a fedora to add to the fun! In remembrance of Matthew his family wear fedoras on his birthday and other memorable dates (or special occasions).
Bruno and Marlene, Matthew’s parents continue to be active in supporting Emily’s House, and along with a dedicated group of volunteers have planned this tribute concert and fundraiser for Emily’s House at the Stained Glass Centre for the Performing Arts. The celebration will include live performances, silent and live auctions and other fun to entertain 250 guests.
