Hike for Hospice – Thanks, Everyone!

The Hike for Hospice Partners event Sunday was simply terrific! The beautiful weather and fun new activities for children made for a beautiful event and filled the park with joy. New hospice partner, Toronto Grace Health Centre’s Palliative Care, brought an additional 80-90 people and energy to the annual crowd. Thanks to everyone – staff, volunteers, families, friends, sponsors, and programming partners – who supported or participated in any way.
The new Family Advisory Council participation and Kids Party activities engaged more families with young children than ever before. The event featured a bouncy castle, a live bubble show and more! One of our Emily’s House pre-teen clients set up a table, like a lemonade stand, and gave away sweets and treats she baked with one of our Recreation Coordinators.
At the Hike for Hospice event, we announced a total of approximately $78,000+ raised in total for hospice care for all our participating hospices: Emily’s House, Philip Aziz Centre for Hospice Care, Hospice Toronto, and Toronto Grace Health Centre’s Palliative Care! This includes $38,000+ which is designated to Emily’s House/Philip Aziz Centre.
