Hockey for Grace 2024
A post from our CEO Rauni Salminen
As a special hockey tournament event held this past weekend to honour the short life of Baby Grace and remember the children who left us too soon, I came away from the ice rink, overwhelmed by the kindness and empathy of the human spirit. Amy and Chris Manning have used the pain and loss in their lives, to raise awareness and funds to help other families going through the sorrow of losing their child. It was amazing and inspiring to witness the young hockey players skate their little hearts out with such enthusiasm and joy, especially Carter who was skating for his baby sister Grace. Beautiful, heartwarming!
As well, the day saw nine adult hockey teams play in a tournament, each team named after the memory of a child who had passed away at Emily’s House.
Thank you to every hockey player and person who helped make this an incredibly special day to remember. Thank you especially to Chris and Amy, you are angels of light and love in this world! Baby Grace’s short life continues to be a guiding beacon of generosity.
