Kim attended the Prague children’s hospice and conference

This May, Kim Daffern, our Manager of Clinical programs attended the European Association for Palliative Care (EAPC) Conference in Prague. This was an exciting and informative opportunity for Emily’s House to gain valuable insights into the innovative work being done around the world in paediatric palliative care.  It also provided a relational and knowledge-based forum to connect with experts, researchers and peers within the global palliative care community. Kim returned with fresh new ideas and strategies on how we can improve and expand on current services and QI at EH.

Kim also had the opportunity to tour the future site of CIBULKA – Centre for Children’s Complex Care and Children’s Inpatient Hospice in Prague – and exchange knowledge on our respective hospice programs, models of care and organizational structures. Our medical Director, Dr. Adam Rapaport, has been key in providing expertise and support to their medical team on paediatric palliative care.  Our CEO, Rauni, has also spent time virtually with their CEO and Coordinator of Health and Social Care, sharing her experience, learnings, and challenges in establishing EH.
