Mother’s Day Project – IMPACT Photo Shoot

This Mother’s Day photoshoot was created to honour and celebrate mothers who have experienced the profound loss of an infant. We invited them to capture moments that reflect their unique motherhood journeys—whatever that looks like for them.
Jewel, Brandon, and baby Aurora joined us in remembrance, taking time to honour and hold space for baby Paxton.
The photoshoot also provided the opportunity to reconnect to the IMPACT team, including our Clinical Nurse Specialist, Andrea Steadman, and Grief Support Nurse, Jordan Bast.
The photo sessions were captured beautifully by Sam Gaetz @gaetzphoto who provided beautiful, edited photos for the family in honour of Mother’s Day.

IMPACT perinatal palliative care supports parents following a baby’s prenatal diagnosis of a life-limiting condition expected to result in death prior to, or shortly following, birth. Perinatal palliative care aims to provide families with the supports they require, before and after birth and death, as well as ensuring access to bereavement counselling. IMPACT is an ongoing partnership program that began as a pilot collaboration among Mount Sinai Hospital, the Hospital for Sick Children and Emily’s House Children’s Hospice.
