National Children’s Grief Awareness Day, Nov 20/25
National Children’s Grief Awareness Day, which falls on November 20th is an opportunity to engage with the children in your life about their experience of grief, access developmentally relevant resources to support them, and advocate for child-focused environments like schools and activity centres to incorporate some of these resources and build on their own grief literacy.
We encourage all who would like to participate and bring awareness to children’s grief to wear blue, create butterfly art, and share resources in honour of the grieving children in your community. Resources to access and share can be found here: https://www.childrensgriefawarenessday.org/
There will also be a virtual event for National Children’s Grief Awareness Day on Highmark Caring Place’s YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/@HighmarkCaringPlace). Tune in for free on November 20th throughout the day to hear talks about Children’s Grief and the advocacy work being done throughout Canada and the US.
