National Nursing Week

Today marks the beginning of National Nursing Week which runs from May 12th-18th. National Nursing Week serves as an opportunity for us all to stand back and acknowledge and celebrate the contributions and dedication of nurses locally, nationally and internationally.
This year’s theme is “The Power of Nurses to Transform Health.” This theme stresses the incredible impact of 478,000 plus nurses across Canada have in shaping health care, driving innovation, and advocating for patient-centred care.
The week includes Indigenous Nurses Day and International Nurses Day on May 12 and Student Nurses Day on May 14. “In every community and every sector, nurses are making measurable impacts on the health of Canadians,” said Dr. Kimberly LeBlanc, CNA president. “This week, we celebrate the impact of nurses across Canada and their collective power to transform health for today and tomorrow.”
To our dedicated, skilled and compassionate team of RN’s and RPN’s, Happy Nurses Week! Your dedication to healing and compassionate care at Emily’s House is at the core of who we are and an inspiration to us all. Your unwavering commitment to caring and comforting the children and families who come to EH, doesn’t go unnoticed. Families, children, your colleagues, and our care partners all thank you for your tireless efforts and selfless service.
