Our “Seeing Eye Guy” Volunteer Update

We featured a few updates on volunteer Eric and his adult client’s palliative care journey last year.
Today, he continues to volunteer, supporting hospice clients through both the Philip Aziz Centre for Hospice Care Community Program, as well as our Emily’s House children’s hospice families.
Testimonial (2024) from his Philip Aziz Centre for Hospice Care client:
“When I was diagnosed with terminal cancer, I was placed in palliative care at home. I was then contacted by the Phillip Aziz Centre to help me evaluate my needs. I was amazed by all the services they could offer me. As I navigated this situation, my eyesight was diminishing. My PAC Volunteer (my seeing-eye guy) was assigned to me and has been helping me once a week for several months to run errands and go on outings. He makes me feel safe and secure. I also enjoy his company and care.”
