“We will always appreciate the kindness of [volunteer], who came to visit my dad a great deal and spent time reading the newspaper to him, talking to him, and helping keeping his loneliness at bay. He couldn’t verbalize it, but I know he appreciated those visits so much. … My family recently moved to [the neighbourhood], just a stone’s through from the Philip Aziz Centre, and we’ve been taking our toddler around there every day for walks/pigeon chasing/etc. Every time I look into Emily’s House, I think about what wonderful but heartbreaking work you do in the community.”
