RNAO BPSO: Emily’s House Multidisciplinary Team Gap Analysis on Patient and Family Centred Care
It was wonderful to have Emily’s House patients and families represented today by our Family Advisory Council Chair, who joined the Emily’s House multidisciplinary team for our first Registered Nurses’ Association of Ontario (RNAO) Best Practice Spotlight Organization (BPSO) meeting focused on Patient (and Family) Centred Care. The session included a rich, collaborative discussion and gap analysis, highlighting many aspects of our current client care practices that are already worth celebrating.
The RNAO created the BPSO initiative to support the consistent implementation of best practice guidelines (BPGs) and enhance healthcare outcomes. Emily’s House is working toward three BPGs: 1) Patient (and Family) Centred Care; 2) Transitional Care, which focuses on how patients are supported as they move between home, hospital, and community settings; and 3) Pain Assessment and Management.
Updates will be posted to our BPSO webpage with further progress: https://paceh.ca/who-we-are/bpso/
