Sean and Peta Boyd and Agnico Eagle Mines: Lead Patrons of Emily’s House Children’s Volunteer Program

Special thanks to Presenting Patrons Sean and Peta Boyd, and Agnico Eagle Mines for leadership funding for the Emily’s House Children’s Volunteer Program.
Since 2013, the Boyd family and Agnico Eagle have donated over $485,000 to Emily’s House. Their combined generosity has included the first appliances for the Emily’s House kitchen, funding for children’s programs, lead co-presenting sponsorship of gala fundraisers for the mining and finance sectors, and the beautiful, landscaped garden and outdoor space that surrounds our children’s hospice home.
This year, we are particularly grateful for their donation support for Children’s Volunteers. Volunteers are always needed – to support children at Emily’s House and/or to provide remote visits in a child’s own home. Consistent relationships, recreational play and story times with a volunteer can lift the spirits of a child or caregiver. Annually, the Volunteer team manages a roster of 300+ volunteers; trains 165 new volunteers; completes outreach/education presentations to over 125 potential volunteers; and celebrates every volunteer at a recognition event in December.
Thank you to the Boyd family and Agnico Eagle whose support will help recruit, train and deploy children’s volunteers, and help expand the impact of our staff and volunteer resources.
