Three Eras of Volunteering!
One of our volunteer coordinators, Mike, was so pumped about this that we have to share the story highlight behind this photo.
During summer camp, in the midst of all the other excitement at Emily’s House children’s hospice, these three volunteers were supporting children at day camp, job shadowing, and transferring knowledge accumulated from frontline hospice care.
The photo captures what Mike referred to as “Three Eras of Volunteering!” Three inspiring volunteers, at different stages in their commitment, supporting medically-fragile children, as well as one another (left to right):
Leanna – a brand-new volunteer on her first shift at Emily’s House.
Jessica – serving her last day at Emily’s House after three years of volunteering. Inspired by her time at EH, she is leaving to pursue her Therapeutic Recreation Degree at a program out west!
Lisbeth – is a familiar face who has been volunteering for “nine years and counting” at Emily’s House, and was mentoring Leanna on her first shift.
Thank you to all our selfless volunteers at every stage of their volunteer journey, and in the career and life paths they choose after connecting with hospice care in their own personally meaningful way.
